Why serve the homeless
A missionary was asked why she serves the homeless.
Her response was “The Lord has asked me to serve those who are lonely and unloved. The Lord has shown me so many populations in my little Jerusalem of Wake County.
When you serve Jesus through the homeless, the ministries encompass:
o group homes with mental and physical disabilities;
o the elderly in retirement homes, nursing homes, assisted living, and the streets;
o the migrant workers and Hispanic populations;
o those in prison and ex-cons;
o those in hospitals, the sick and dying;
o those with HIV;
o the people of the night; (the blog won't permit the word)
o the substance dealers;
o the substance abusers;
o the poor in housing projects, the streets, and the woods;
o the "at risk" children;
o the physically and mentally abused women, children, and men;
o the rejected;
o the church;
o and what it means to pray.
What a gift from God to embrace all these ministries as one body, the Body of Christ!”
