Fiesta Day - collecting school supplies

Fiesta Day is for the children in the Hispanic Apex mission, as well as the other Hispanic “least of these” neighborhoods in the Cary/Apex area served, grades k-8th. A huge undertaking for such a small church! But we serve a HUGE GOD with a HUGE BODY of BELIEVERS! THANK YOU JESUS!

Carol and Gilbert serves Jesus through the Apex Hispanic gang neighborhood (same location as the Backyard Bible Club, as well as, the same location as the Manna From Heaven food drop from Christmas - 85+ homes) AND other “least of these” Hispanic neighborhoods in the area. They are also pastors of the small church organizing Fiesta Day. They have been a HUGE GIFT FROM JESUS for us!

Fiesta Day also includes a clothing drive and crafts. Please add prayers for funding of the crafts and people who would love to serve Jesus that day.

Carol and Gilbert are designing a flyer and once received, it will be forward with all the information.

The address for Fiesta Days August 16th from 11-1.
The address is 3725 Kildaire Farms Rd, near the Ten Ten intersection.
Carol and Gilbert’s number is 372-9750

An article in My NC e-magazine

Luke 10 in action in Wake County

Mission teams have been praying for churches close to any mission site to minister to the least of these near their churches. The Lord is faithful! Read how the Lord has answered these prayers. We praise You, Lord, for the growth of Your kingdom!

Two weeks ago an Hispanic pastor and wife called to accompany the Saturday Hispanic mission. Their church is ~ a mile, as a crow flies, from the mission site. They asked to take over the Tuesday bounty and start a new mission. Today they have taken over the Hispanic Saturday ministry, as well as, starting a new one on Saturdays. With a call to the Brown Bag ministry, the bagged lunches were increased, just for Apex missions, from 40 to 115 each week. Thank You Lord for Your mighty provisions! Now the original Saturday mission team has the time and resources to go into a new area this morning. Keep both teams in prayer this morning as His kingdom is taken into new areas.
The fruits of this new Jesus team’s labor can already be seen. On the 1st the team took food to the new Tuesday mission site. They were able to pray with people and invite them to church. One of the families brought another family on Sunday, the 6th. While at church a family, not in a relationship with Jesus, asked for food and a job. The response was let's pray about this. On Tuesday the 8th , the food donations were so bountiful the team took food to the family telling them that Jesus heard their prayers. They, then, wanted prayer for a job. The next morning they called the mission team, the husband had a job. Pray as this family desires and develops a closer to Jesus through fellowship, asked and answered prayers, and discipleship.

The Lord has also answered those prayers through two churches in Garner. One church has been offering showers, clothing, laundry, medical missions, and fellowship on Saturdays for quite some time. The number attending each week has grown to between 20 and 30 lambs. Now several of the lambs are asking for rides and attending the church Sunday morning. They have developed such strong relationships with these lambs, they are visiting and sending cards to them in the hospitals and treatment centers. We are thanking Jesus for the one lamb in treatment now who calls daily in tears because of these cards and letters of encouragement! He knows he is loved. An Hispanic church is reaching out to the Hispanic population and offering them rides to their 3 services a week. We are thanking Jesus for His laborers!

What a blessing to witness Luke 10 in action in so many places! God is good!

How God uses the Body of Christ is so amazing!

How God uses the Body of Christ is so amazing!

One lamb has touched many hearts over the last year as he has tried to be released from substance abuse. So many have lifted him in prayer!

This weekend, a grown daughter he hadn’t seen in 15 years called him "Daddy" and asked him to get help and then come see her.

He called a missionary to receive reassurance and prayer. That missionary called others who live near him and they sent someone to pray with him in person while others made encouraging phone calls.

This morning the lamb is at a treatment center, lonely and afraid but determined and relying on Christ. Thank You Jesus!

Please lift him up in prayer as he goes through detox. The next few days could be life or death.

The next prayer request is for clothing. He needs size 40 shorts/jeans, XL t-shirts, boxers, socks, and size 12 shoes. Mike will be collecting it. He can be reached at 363-7044.

Most important is constant prayer that he lean on Jesus for direction instead of himself and follow the treatment protocol through Jesus’ strength, not his own.

Finally, please pray that he does see his daughters when this is over and that it is a time of healing, forgiveness and repentance.

We are thanking the Lord for the way so many have pulled together through the Body of Christ and how God honors those prayers.

Mission Need

Greetings in Christ from a new member!I work with H.O.P.E. Ministry at Garner UMC. We started this ministry about 18 months ago, with only two of our homeless friends attending. Now it has grown to an average of 20-25 each and every Saturday afternoon. We go out with our church van and pick up the homeless from three different locations around the Garner/South Raleigh area and bring them back to the church where they can take hot showers, get clean clothing and have a hot nourishing meal, along with fellowship and friendship from the people who are hosting their visit. Here's the problem: our church is so busy that it is getting harder and harder to guarantee that the van will be available every Saturday, because of Boy Scout trips, youth mission trips and youth activities. We do have a bus, but a VERY limited number of drivers with a CDL. We have additional men who are working on getting a CDL, but that's months away.We are in desperate need of another 15-passenger van. Please help us pray about this need and if ANYONE knows of someone who would be willing to donate such a vehicle, please contact Garner UMC at 772-2042.Thanks and blessings on each of you!
